I am jumping into 2015 with a Project 365 photography project.I wont be posting every single day, though, I will gather my photos and post at the end of the month. Here is my first Project 365 post of 2015!
The first photo of the new year. My mom and I. Mom found out she has breast cancer a few months ago. She had started her chemo treatments a few weeks prior to this, and was starting to see the effects on her hair. Right after we took this photo, she asked me to clip her hair so she could not worry about her hair loss. My mom is a warrior and has faced cancer with such strength and grace! I love her so much!
My tree always stays up until after the new year! It’s bad luck to take it down sooner! I was so proud of our tree this year! We moved into a new home with super tall ceilings. Our old tree looked so tiny in the living room, so out with the old and in with the new! We got a huge 9 footer and I added my favorite burlap and red berry theme…and… viola! The key ornament represents our first Christmas in our new home! Love it.
Baby girl decided New Years Eve was the perfect time to get the Flu and a stomach virus all at once. That was alright. We camped out on the couch to watch all the festivities on TV while she slept through it all. I also got more Christmas stuff packed away and much more organized than before.
Baby girl has been sick on and off since the NYE festivities. This day was a day we stayed home from school and work and I took care of her. At snack time she was feeling much better and I had a style idea for a mini photo shoot with her. I taped up the zebra backdrop and draped her little table in a Valentine cloth. She requested her snack be served tea-party style, so I indulged her wishes. It was so much fun and she enjoyed every minute of it!
Big Girl won the Stellar Student Award for the month of January at her school. I’m such a proud mama! We had to make a poster for her teacher to display outside her classroom. I let her choose all her pictures. I affixed the photos and captioned them for her, and then she went to town with all the letter and heart stickers. She had so much fun with this project! She got many compliments at school, too! I hope this is a good sign of projects to come in her school future.
The above two photos were a beautiful day! Two family friends got married and my family couldn’t be happier for them! They got married in a CASTLE! In TEXAS! Who knew there was a castle in Texas? I sure didn’t, and upon further research, there are actually several castle structures in Texas. Maybe a neat bucket-list adventure to see them all is in the works!
On Wednesdays, my mom has her chemo treatments and I try to make sure I’m wearing something pink in support of her. This day, it happened to be clip-on hair extensions! They are so fun to play around with!
This corner of our living room is where our Christmas tree lived during the season. Ever since it got put away, the corner just looks so bare! I am looking for some inspiration for this area. A great wing-back chair with a lamp on the table would be a great place for reading and snuggling with the kiddos!
Thank you for taking a peek into my life with my Project 365! I hope you will enjoy the ones to come! Happy 2015!
